11 Times "Health Guru" Celebrities Were Hilariously Wrong About Science

6. Gillian McKeith's Many Ramblings

Frankly, Gillian McKeith's myriad whackjob claims probably warrant their own article (watch this space), but we'll give you a quick run down here for now.

"Doctor" Gillian McKeith is famously obsessed with what we like to term "poo woo", regularly bullying sobbing fat women into a round or two of colonic irrigation on national telly in order to shed those pounds.

Another particular favourite is the claim that eating lots of chlorophyll will, er, "oxygenate the blood". This is despite the fact that only some kinds of chlorophyll produce oxygen when exposed to sunlight. Perhaps this claim is final proof that the sun really does shine out of Ms Mckeith's arse.

In a post-I'm A Celebrity... world, our Gilly has gone a bit quiet (if "quiet" means ceasing to harangue obese people to the point of tears), but her Facebook page continues to release a steady drip of probing think-pieces such as "Do Americans Want To Eat Scottish Haggis?", interspersed with advertisements for her 2009 health bible.
