11 Weirdest Beauty Contests Throughout The World

9. Wisconsin State Fair Llama Costume Contest

Of course, humans aren't the only ones who strive for best in show. A number of cheese mongers of America's fair dairyland proudly display their llamas fashion sense. Apparently, dairy is not the only thing on their minds. Dressing up llamas is also an important and integral part of being a resident of Wisconsin. The strangely charming beauty pageant, known as the Wisconsin State Fair Llama Costume Contest to local residents, does not judge the llama based on their fur, teeth, or poise, as judges usually do in dog shows. Unlike the llama in the photo above, these llamas must wear clothes. While this may detract from their natural, rugged presence, it is imperative that they flaunt their style. Rather, the winner of the costumed camelid contest is based upon the best outfit. Outfits have ranged from wacky and weird to cute and comfy. It's up to the owners and handlers to make the outfits. Sadly, llamas are unable to sew; knitting is a different story. The llama owners often fashion matching outfits to match their furry friends ensemble. The best matching pair wins, and folks come up with some pretty cheesy costumes. Amid these awkward looking animals, and their hopeful owners, there is always a winning duo who is given a top prize by the judges of the Wisconsin State Fair.
