9. T-Rex Vs Stegosaurus Could Never Happen

For those who adored Jurassic Park - i.e. everyone in the whole world ever - the dream of seeing the T-Rex have a showdown with a Stegosaurus seemed perfect. It's like nature created the most desired action sequence in history, but played the cruel prank of having us live no where near the time in which it took place. But thank the gods, because it couldn't have happened in the first place, because the Stegosaurus lived roughly 150 million years ago, whereas the T-Rex roamed the Earth about 65 million years in the past. So whilst it's sad to think such an epic battle never actually took place, thanks to an 85 million year gap, it's comforting to know we're not actually missing out on having seen it.

8. Romans Had Sports Sponsorship Deals

Despite what Russell Crowe tried to tell us, gladiators were less likely to be unfortunate men forced into combat to the death than being the rockstars of their age. Vienna University recently discovered that they were provided with medical care, had referees watching over their fights, and were quite likely rich, famous and surrounded by groupies. Thanks to discoveries into Roman mosaics and the like, we've also been able to decipher that the gladiators even had their own billboards. Essentially, the gladiators had their faces littered across the cities of the Empire, like an enormous collection of top trumps.
