12 Biggest Brand Blunders In History

8. Instead Of Telling Spaniards To "Turn It Loose", Coors Mistakenly Told Them To "Suffer From Diarrhoea"

Coors

Coors Brewing Company - who produce such beers as "Coors Light" - have used many slogans down the years, including "Turn it loose". Although in America, Britain and the rest of the English-speaking world this is a perfectly-reasonable and decent advertising slogan, in Spain and Latin America that is not the case. In fact, when Coors tried to directly translate "turn it loose" into Spanish it came out as meaning: "Suffer from diarrhoea".

Needless to say, Coors did not want to induce this reaction from their customers - and quickly altered the slogan.
