7. Groupe Bel Released A Cheese Named "Penis"

French dairy-product manufacturer Groupe Bel are famous for such cheese brands as "The Laughing Cow", "Babybel" and "Boursin" - as well as "Kiri". Yet when the company opened a branch in Iran in 2007 - having already tried to introduce "Kiri" there during the 1970s - they got a shock when the name translated to mean "penis" or "rotten" in Farsi (Persian).

Groupe Bel reacted quickly once they learned of the name's translation, and instead called the product "Kibi" in Iran.
