A vast majority of us will enter the "I love you, buddy" phase when drunk, it's a very common way of bonding with friends when inhibitions are lowered. Where the line should be drawn is when lingering hugs, touching, and intense eye contact comes into play. There's little more uncomfortable feeling than when a friend tells you for the twentieth time how deeply they love you and wishes you were closer. Although, as cringe inducing as this can sometimes feel, it's a lot worse when the person acting this way is a total stranger. Likely to say: "I love you man, I mean I really love you"
