12 Hacks For A Mind-Blowing Sex Life
6. Pavlov It Up
Pavlovian conditioning (no, it's nothing to do with a dessert made of meringue and cream) is the principle of using certain stimuli to trigger hard-wired responses. In the original experiment, Pavlov would sound a buzzer whenever he fed his dogs. The dogs would come to associate the sound of the buzzer with food and would involuntarily begin to salivate whenever they heard it, regardless of whether there was any food around.
So far, so unsexy.
Away from the world of drooling dogs, however, you can use this principle to enhance the sexual experience of yourself or your partner when you're gettin' busy. Similar to the idea that if you pretend to laugh for a while, you'll eventually start to feel happy because the brain associates the action of laughing with the feeling of happiness, you can hack your brain in the same way to associate certain actions, words or even smells with a mind-blowing orgasm.
Train your brain by having your chosen stimulus present when you're climaxing (you can take matters into your own hands to ensure it's always a good one), and after a while, just the sight, smell or sound of the stimulus on its will kick start the kinky thoughts and get you in the mood.
Just be wary what you use for a stimulus. Scientists in the 70s ran an experiment in which they conditioned men to associate shoes with sex, thus inadvertently giving the lot of them foot fetishes. Make sure that your "On" button isn't something you're going to encounter in a crowded public place (unless that's what you're into, in which case carry right on).
