You bet. Count von Count, the vampire muppet from Sesame Street is based on folklore. Vampires supposedly had a form of OCD that made them want to count things in their path, so whenever you left the house, you had to make sure that you were armed with your seeds and coins as your defence. The vampires would give up the chase because they were overwhelmed with this need and desire to count the seeds that you've just thrown on the floor. Hopefully you would drop enough that they wouldn't notice the sunrise...
