12 Most Controversial Joe Rogan Experience Guests

10. Edward Snowden

In 2013, Edward Snowden leaked top-secret information from the NSA, revealing Governmental programs in global surveillance. Becoming a whistleblower, hunted by the US Government, Snowden went into exile later that year.

Snowden has shared information about the desire for global governments to create databases on every person on the earth, infringing on people’s right to privacy. Snowden has not left Russia since arriving, fearing retribution from US Agents.

Appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience via video call, Snowden detailed more of his concerns for the push for global security by way of the use of AI in technology. He criticised top brands of smartphones as not being very efficient in protecting users from outside surveillance. Snowden went through a very detailed analysis of how mobile phones work, and how people’s identity is shared with each individual cell tower. Not only that, but there is a record kept for every time your phone was logged into a certain mast. This information is now collected in bulk and thus is the foundation of global surveillance.
