12 Silly Things You Can Do To Instantly Improve Your Day

3. Start Dancing In Public

Some of you might already do this - and credit to you if you do - but dancing in public is an assured confidence-raiser and mood-booster, even if you're a nervous person by nature. It's silly and stupid and also kind of revolutionary. Yes, you can do the Macarena and let it be revolutionary. Only when you're drunk, though. It doesn't even have to be some big, explosive dance moves you pull out of your no-doubt-repertoire of expressionist moves. A little shoulder shake or a hip sway can be enough to get the mood moving. So why is this considered a silly thing to do? Simply, because we're encouraged to dance and express ourselves as children, and then it all becomes repressed and suppressed, confined to guilty little boogies in front of the mirror or being drunkenly unleashed on the dancefloor when you're three inches deep into a fishbowl of sambuca. Creativity shines in all aspects of our lives and while it might not be writing a great novel at your bus stop or composing a globally-successful ad pitch while you're listening to the radio, sometimes doing the silly thing can be the most freeing and the most compassionate to yourself. T he human body responds to music naturally, our brains are wired to appreciate it and want to celebrate it. So go ahead and dance if you want to. Most people'll just be jealous you've got the guts to do it anyway...
