12 Sneakiest Ways Your Kids Are Outsmarting You

12. They'll figure out what you've bought them for christmas weeks beforehand

Now, many parents will go to superheroic lengths to obtain that 'one gift' they know will bring a Joker-style grin to their child's face (but in a good way). However what stands between an incredibly kind and good-natured gesture, and the final step of its execution? An overly-inquisitive child of course! As many of us remember when we're young, there's nothing more blood-pumping than zeroing in on the identity of what that giant mythical box in the corner of the cupboard is, or second-guessing what your 'final big present' is before you even start opening. However now that you're on the other side of the fence and trying to keep such a thing a secret, it seems your child has developed a Sheldon Cooper-like eidetic memory when it comes to remembering all the facts. Over the course of the lead-up to any given birthday or festivity they'll compile the "Go and find your father" from three months ago's trip into a certain section of the toy store, with last week's sudden need for them to vacate the living room whilst 'something' was carried in. Nine times out of ten you'll be able to pull it off in the end, but it'll never stop them from interrogating you like some sort of Jack Bauer-in-training until they're suitably satisfied.
