6. Plagiarises A Short Film (December 2013)

And here's where the crazy train really leaves the station. In December 2013, LaBeouf released a short called Howard Cantour.com onto the Internet, which had previously premiered at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. When the film landed online, it didn't take people long to realise that it had been at least partly plagiarised from Dan Clowes' 2007 comic Justin M. Damiano, causing a worldwide WTF, as some debated whether this was LaBeouf's statement on the film industry's lack of originality, or if he was actually daft enough to think he would get away with it. On the plus side, Clowes, who wrote the popular comic Ghost World, has no doubt enjoyed a major surge of popularity as a result, and that's probably the only positive thing to come out of this whole debacle. Unfortunately, however, that was just the beginning...
