12 Times That Shia LaBeouf Made An Absolute Ass Of Himself
5. Plagiarises Apology & Delivers Further Apology In Sky-Writing (January 2014)
LaBeouf did deliver an apology to Clowes, declaring, "Copying isn't particularly creative work. Being inspired by someone else's idea to produce something new and different IS creative work." However, it was soon discovered that this apology itself had been plagiarised from a Yahoo Answers thread from four years prior, suggesting that LaBeouf had either lost his mind, or had simply gone full troll. Shia went further than this, going to the lengths of sky-writing an apology, reading "I am sorry Daniel Clowes", which was reportedly 5-miles long in the sky, though due to the location of Clowes' home (roughly 450 miles away), it could not have conceivably been seen by its intended recipient. If the plagiarised apology didn't already make it clear, LaBeouf wasn't being particularly sincere about the whole debacle, inviting actors such as Lena Dunham, Patton Oswalt and Seth Rogen to begin taking him to task via Twitter.
