And she did. 2013 was the year that Hannah Montana grew up, turning into a headline-grabbing pop culture phenomenon that turned the world upside down every time she spoke, sang, tweeted, or twerked. She brought on Britney Spears' manager early in the year and dropped bombshell singles in the leadup to her fourth album Bangerz, which hit in October. On the way to that album release she had hits with "We Can't Stop" and "Wrecking Ball", broke it off with Liam Hemsworth after four years, was the subject of an MTV documentary, and hosted Saturday Night Live the day after the record dropped.
