Obviously the LEGO Ideas House tour offers a great potted history of the last 80 years of LEGO production, offering interesting revelations like the company's flirtation with making jewelry or discovering how blocks, mini-figures and sets developed over the years.

One of the most interesting facts I learned personally was that the first black mini-figures were only introduced when LEGO and the NBA worked together to release figures of the league's biggest stars. Because of the number of African American players, LEGO introduced the new skin colour (plus other variations), and brick diversity was born.
