8. There's No Sugar

As we were led around the LEGO factory, hints at the life of the workers there were very clear to see in employee boards that tracked who had an anniversary or who might be leaving. And it may sound like a cliche, but everyone looked remarkably happy.

A good part of that probably comes down to the company's commitment to looking after their employees. Family comes first, unsurprisingly for a company that has passed down through one family, and health follows closely. Fresh fruit and healthy snacks are available, but you'll never find sugar in their vending machines: it's a commitment a lot of other companies should also follow.
