9. The Senior School Merger

After escaping primary school (and the clutches of Bede's World), many Jarrow residents ended up at either Springfield Comprehensive School, or Hedworthfield Comprehensive School. It was well known that students of 'Springaa' and 'Hedwath' hated each other, although not quite as much as everybody hated Hebburn Comp - for previously established reasons. Then, in 2003, the unthinkable happened: a merger was announced. Suddenly the warring factions were forced to grow up alongside one another, under the sickeningly sweet banner of "Jarrow New School". Luckily, the enemies learned to appreciate one another, and went on to live happily ever after. Not really. Instead, after less than a year of existence, the new school was the scene of a "near riot". Seriously, this actually happened. There were three arrests.
