13 Things You Should Never Say To A Stephen King Fan

11. 'Is Stephen King A Drug Addict?'

Well, maybe he was once upon a time during the 80s. But when you look at all the books he created while under the influence, you€™re not sure you€™re even upset about it. Try Misery or The Tommyknockers. There are some seriously great ideas in both those books. Drug-induced ideas perhaps, but still readable. Oh - and he was totally an alcoholic for a while. Can€™t you see him in Jack Torrance in The Shining, or Joe Camber in Cujo? Alcoholic father visualises killing his own children while under the influence of alcohol? (It€™s ok, he€™s recovered now and apparently God was quite a big influence in him becoming the recovered addict that he is today. Try Revival or Dr Sleep €“ it€™s like reading a whole new King).

I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
