13 Things You Should Never Say To A Stephen King Fan
11. 'Is Stephen King A Drug Addict?'
Well, maybe he was once upon a time during the 80s. But when you look at all the books he created while under the influence, youre not sure youre even upset about it. Try Misery or The Tommyknockers. There are some seriously great ideas in both those books. Drug-induced ideas perhaps, but still readable. Oh - and he was totally an alcoholic for a while. Cant you see him in Jack Torrance in The Shining, or Joe Camber in Cujo? Alcoholic father visualises killing his own children while under the influence of alcohol? (Its ok, hes recovered now and apparently God was quite a big influence in him becoming the recovered addict that he is today. Try Revival or Dr Sleep its like reading a whole new King).
I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
