14 Internet Memes We're Totally Obsessed With Using
10. "Annoyed Picard"
At this point it's markedly clear that the already touched on memes have focused on basic responses to questions. And now there's yet another added meme that shares the same trait. Made famous by Star Trek: The Next Generation's own Patrick Stewart, "Annoyed Picard" has been one of the highlight memes for quite some time now. Much like the purpose of "Da Fuq?", "Annoyed Picard" has served the same task of calling out quirky and farcical moments from people that just don't make sense with what they're saying or doing. Patrick Stewart's open-mouthed, trenchant posture is that of someone who sees or hears something stupid, just like a regular person would do under any given circumstance. Gossip and drama plays a huge role in our daily lives, and the demand to comment on the actions of others, whether shameful or not, is indeed high. If someone were to openly state something that others find annoying or stupid, they would usually perform the same act as Captain Picard up above, demanding to know what the hell is wrong or what is happening.
