14 Reasons Your 20s Are Just Like The Lord Of The Rings

3. You Say Goodbye To Your Childhood

By the end of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, it's pretty obvious that the beautiful serene Shire lives of Frodo and Sam are very much over. For Frodo especially: he's been stabbed, winded by a cave-troll, led on a merry dance by a stranger, fallen out with his best friend, succumbed to the power of evil multiple times, been prepared for a spider's dinner, kidnapped by Orcs, had his finger bitten off, and been in a fight above a fiery pit of lava. Plus other misdemeanours. Obviously he's not a frolicking little hobbit anymore. And while your twenties hopefully aren't as dramatic as this, by the time you're 25 you've becoming stoic in your acceptance of adulthood. You've got responsibilities now. You're preparing for the rest of your life. You're learning in a big way who you really are. Childhood is but a memory now, and you can only look forward from this point on-wards.

I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
