14 Things We Can't Believe Happened 10 Years Ago

6. The Birth Of Huge TV Shows

Despite shows like Sex And The City coming to an end in 2004, it was also the year that saw the birth of some huge American TV shows, including, of course Lost,. We were also treated to Entourage and Veronica Mars, but it was the medical drama House starring the best of British Hugh Laurie that came in as one of 2004's highest rated television shows in the US. Battlestar Galactica provided us with gripping military sci-fi drama while we were also treated to a trip down Wisteria Lane where we were introduced to the beautiful and intriguing Desperate Housewives, which is where we first laid eyes on Eva Longoria. Meanwhile in Britain shows like Shameless and Green Wing were just getting started while Strictly Come Dancing, which spawned the American version Dancing With The Stars, made its TV debut in 2004 along with Live At The Apollo and Jo Frost as the Super Nanny. Another show which began a decade ago was Who Do You Think You Are? which was BBC2's highest rated program of 2004 and has since been transmitted to over 15 countries worldwide. 2004 was definitely a fantastic year of television inauguration.
