8 & 7. Mick Jagger And Keith Richards

In 1967, the police raided the home of Keith Richards in Sussex. There they found several things, including Marianne Faithfull wrapped in a fur rug, as well as both Jagger and Richards. Also there was David Schneiderman, an American drug dealer who was known as the "Acid King" for his experience at creating LSD. Jagger himself, took a rap for Faithfull. She had bought some amphetamines legally in Italy and brought them with her they were illegal in the UK and when questioned, Jagger said they were his. Richards meanwhile was charged with allowing drugs to be taken at his home. Richards was sentenced to twelve months and spent a night in Wormwood Scrubs prison before being released on bail and later dismissed on appeal. He summed up the experience in his autobiography, saying "The food's awful, the wine list is terribly limited and the library is abysmal." Jagger was sent to Brixton Prison, but only spent three nights out of a three month sentence there following the public outcry. He was bailed and the sentence was later dropped on appeal. During the trial, the police claimed that Faithfull's lack of inhibition meant that she had to be on drugs. The whole thing was front page news at the time. Jagger has since been given a Knighthood by the Queen. Obviously she's a Marianne Faithful fan.
