5. Coffin Torture

This was quite a popular method of torture during the Middle Ages as it was also a source of public humiliation for the victim. Depending on who they were or the severity of the crime that they committed, it usually meant that they were placed in smaller sized coffins so that they were completely unable to move or even make themselves remotely comfortable. You were suspended in an open metal coffin and usually left there until you died of starvation or dehydration. Though not before people would throw rocks at you and birds would come and feed on your flesh.
