It's hard to talk about incredible websites without mentioning Google, arguably the Internet's most dynamic presence. With the company tackling pretty much every media delivery that exists - Search, Advertising, RSS, Social Media, Video, and pretty much everything else - Google is set to continue its reign into 2014. This isn't bad news. Google is responsible for many of the Internet's biggest and greatest platforms, including YouTube. Granted, their persistent desire to make Google Plus become the definitive social network is alienating some users, but Google's prominence certainly isn't in any danger. Why It's Going To Rule... I doubt I'll get in trouble for making the claim that Google already rules the Internet. Countless people chase after mythical algorithms that determine their own website's livelihood, and this is all governed by Google's search engine. SEO is dominated by everyone's effort to understand the hidden formulas behind Google's search engine rankings, and this isn't going to change anytime soon, especially due to how far ahead Google is of anyone else who can be described as competition. Time will tell if anyone ever manages to knock Google down a notch, but for now, it will continue to rule most of what makes any kind of money in the world of online advertising and metrics.
