If there is any country sensitive to race relations, it is the United States. So if you want to avoid bad press, it is a good idea to avoid anything that could even remotely be classed as being a bit racist. So when Costco ordered dolls in the "Cuddle With Me" range, they should have really realised that while it was politically correct to include an African American baby in the rage, putting a headband around her head with the words Lil Monkey might not be the best decision ever made. It also came surrounded by monkeys that Im sure rubbed further salt into the already seeping wound.
