10. Dealing With Students

Yates especially is a magnet to students, considering there seems to be (at least) one in every major university town. And it's understandable; the meals are cheap, the drinks are even cheaper, and there are plenty of deals for students who can't afford to drink in more upmarket venues. However: having 20 laddish students approach the bar and order 60 jaegarbombs on student night is exactly what you don't want to deal with mid-shift. There are never enough shot glasses, and the Jaegermeister always runs out when you've got just two more to pour. Also, having to remember the orders of 20 people who are shouting what drinks they want at you makes for quite a complicated ordeal.
