Belle and her father are terrified of Beast when they first meet and considering that he locks her up in his castle and makes her his for all eternity, it's difficult to believe that she could actually fall in love with him. Not only is he selfish, arrogant and quick tempered, he's also a beast. He isn't human, so their relationship is already breaking some sort of law. She doesn't even question the furniture when they begin to talk and even though Beast saves her from the wolfpack, he still doesn't let her leave despite his feelings for her. It just goes to show that a girl really will do anything for their own library.
