15 Things You Miss About Being A Kid At Christmas

1. That Feeling

As a functioning adult at this time of year it€™s obviously not nice that you have to put up with and endure the bad side of Christmas. All the stuff you (usually) don€™t see when you€™re a child: the crass commercialism; the cloying sense of false goodwill; tense moments from extended periods trapped in a room with your extended family; the overreliance on alcohol to get you through it. So wouldn€™t you give your fake smile and all your self-respect to experience that carefree feeling of dizzy wonder that you had when you were a snot-faced terror? That mesmerising sensation that you so desperately try to cling to the older and more (ir)responsible you get? Of course you would. We all yearn for the real magic of Christmas to show its face again don€™t we? It€™s a comforting thought and a truly special feeling. Sadly though, it€™s never going to happen. You€™re not a kid anymore. The magic is dead. Merry Christmas!
