The like has definitely grown in power since it vanquished its true foe, the unlike, and the act of liking a post carries some weighty connotations these days. Fancy giving a colleague at work grief from the Mrs? Then do a creepy like on one of their couple selfies; Want to embarrass someone? Then purge their history and like a cringy status or picture, thus bringing it bang up to date on everyone's timelines or, best yet, you find yourself having fallen out with a pal and instead of breaking that inaugural silence via WhatsApp, you opt for chucking out a few likes on their posts to show you're sorry. The possibilities are endless. Or, if you're feeling novel, this tool can be used if you genuinely like something - but where's the skill in that?
