Lads are the main perpetrators of doing this, where a casual scroll through a suggested friends list sees our chap in question stumble across a pretty young thing, prompting his lounging hand to emerge from the crotch of his Hollister joggers and join the other in zooming in on the unwitting girl's profile picture. The conundrum here is that the friends link is tenuous at best and there's no real reason to add the girl - cue said chap hitting the add icon and pinging over a quick message to cover his back. This could say anything from "did I speak to you last Saturday? I was so smashed," or, "aren't you friends with my pal, whatshisface" and even something as lame as "sorry, I didn't mean to add you... what you up to?" The game has certainly changed from the days of begging mobile numbers of girls in dingy bars.
