7. Roger - Lord Of The Flies By William Golding
If there were ever one person you would not like to be stuck on a desert island with then that would have to be Roger, one of the most sadistic characters in literature. We are first introduced to him in Lord Of The Flies as having an inner intensity of avoidance and secrecy and someone who mutters, the warning signals came early for us. Roger wants to gain power on the island not for a motivation of leadership but for a twisted attempt to hurt all those around him. He represents evil and wrongness and it can be seen all so clearly when he raises the rock over Piggy before bringing it down upon him allowing everyone to see him for what he really is, a cold-blooded torturer.
