Death: 8 december 1980 John Lennon still lives on through the legend of the Beatles. The Beatles was a British band that he co-founded in 1960s and they're probably one of the most, if not THE most famous bands in the entire history of the world. However, Lennon's fame and musical ability meant that he made enemies, his biggest was in the form of Mark David Chapman. Chapman killed Lennon by shooting him in the back four times when he was returning home with his wife. Chapman had supposedly been the planning the murder months before it happened after hearing that Lennon had blasphemed by saying "the Beatles were more popular than Jesus." Despite being a Beatles fan himself, Chapman was angered at this comment which insulted his religion. Chapman asked Lennon for an autograph six hours before he shot him. Imagine a world where the Beatles were still going strong? They would definitely have other songs that will help you get Yellow Submarine out of your head (hopefully) and you know that they would definitely be supporting other bands who are trying to share their songs with the world. Lennon changed the world with his music in such a short period of time, imagine what he could have done if he was given the time that he needed to truly make a difference?
