13. Facebook Is Banned In China... Even Though Mark Zuckerberg Is Extremely Highly-Regarded In The Far East
Facebook has been making great strides worldwide - except in places such as China, where the website has been banned on several occasions. First banned in the Far Eastern nation in 2009, Facebook is allowed in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone - but nowhere else in the country. Despite this Facebook ban, however, the company's CEO Mark Zuckerberg is extremely highly-respected in China - and has even been referred to as the nation's "Internet Tsar". Zuckerberg, speaking partially in Mandarin, even visited the nation in October 2014 and hosted a Q&A session in support of China's burgeoning entrepreneurial market. Zuckerberg even declared: "I want them (Facebook staff) to understand socialism with Chinese characteristics." A strange relationship exists between the two, that's for sure...
