Maleficent places a curse on Princess Aurora so that on her sixteenth birthday, she'll fall into a deep sleep forever once her finger has been pricked on the spinning wheel. This is all because she wasn't invited to Aurora's Christening. Most people wouldn't be that offended to not receive an invite but Maleficent's evil seems to stem from her rejection from society. She creates fear in the loved ones of Aurora for sixteen years before her birthday and she misses out on an entire childhood with her family. Maybe it would have been worth sending her an invite after all... Power Rating: She is feared by the entire kingdom for her magical capabilities and one of her spells lasts sixteen years. It seems as though her powers are based on her emotions and considering she's pretty much always angry, you can guarantee that someone who can morph into a dragon isn't going to cheer up anytime soon.
