Film: The Hunchback Of Notre Dame The Hunchback Of Notre Dame is probably one of the darkest Disney films to date and you probably didn't realise it until you watched it again as an adult. Claude Frollo is one son of a female dog, isn't he? Based on Victor Hugo's novel, you can't really expect anything else though can you? Not only does he shun Quasimodo from society, he does this after murdering his mother. Frollo frequently calls Quasimodo a monster and tells him that he should be grateful for the solace of the Cathedral, as society would not be kind to him because of his physical deformities. Esmeralda, a gypsy who shows Quasimodo kindness after society begins to make a fool out of him, is hunted by Frollo and his soldiers, even though Frollo is lusting after her. He's then willing to kill her when she doesn't want to marry him. Frollo burns down a whole city in order to find her and the films explores themes of infanticide, genocide, lust and damnation, all of which are Frollo's doing. Power Rating: Similar to Ratcliffe, Frollo abuses his position in society to get what he wants. He is blinded by his own corruption, lack of morality and lust for Esmeralda to do his job properly or be a decent human being. Frollo governs over a lot more people than Ratcliffe which puts him higher in the power ranking.
