18 Problems Only Claustrophobic People Will Understand

15. Work Sucks Extra For You

With space being a premium and the cost of renting that space involves paying premium prices, operating office space in a major city means that efficiency requires your employer to try and squeeze in as many people as possible into a tight space. Some offices have been known to be no bigger than a broom cupboard with a desk. Knowing that you have to work in a tiny space for the next 8 hours can make office work a terrible endurance test for a claustrophobic. Studies have shown that a claustrophobic environment not only turns your claustrophobic employee into a nail biting projector of doom, but it also stifles creativity, imagination and inspiration. That is why all modern classrooms are designed to be as wide and bright as possible; you can€™t ignite passion in learning if the environment is oppressive. The same applies to office space. But even if you don€™t work in any office, there are many other job related death scenarios that a claustrophobic can conjure up. What if you get trapped in the walk in freezer? Why are the changing rooms in the staff room so small? The store room with the dodgy lock is just waiting to kill you.
