14. You Will Never Enjoy Going To Prison
Sometimes, simply the sound of a lock turning is enough to trigger a panic attack. Nothing hammers home the feeling of being trapped like the heavy clunk of a deadlock falling into place. That is why it helps to always be the one in control of the keys. If you are going to be involved in a lock in, you have to try and be the guy with the keys. But that is not always possible. Understandably, in prison, the chances are that you will not be issued with your own set of keys. If a claustrophobic is sent down for whatever reason, the idea of being locked in a cell is normally worse than the sentence. Spending hours enclosed in a cell that you have no control over, a claustrophobics biggest fear. So on entering the prison system, a claustrophobic would spend the first day being assessed before being transferred to the much more open environment of the medical ward.
