You had to learn a lot of HTML in order to make your profile completely unique and there was nothing more exciting than glitter graphics. They were the ones that gave your profile the much needed 'wow factor' and you were absolutely chuffed with them. You used to copy the HTML into Notepad so you could try to understand what you were doing if things went wrong. It also meant that you could call your friends over and have them do it for you when you weren't the technological wizard of the group and you became completely lost.
