18. Beards Were Banned For 57 Years
When Disneyland first opened Cast Members were not allowed to have any form of facial hair.
Walt Disney believed that guests would associate facial hair on his employees with Carnival workers, so wanted to keep them clean shaven. This complete ban on facial hair lasted until 2000 when moustaches were finally allowed.
It wasn't until 2012 that the ban on beards and goatees was finally lifted.
Disneyland still has strict policies on dress code. For example, fingernails can't be too long and hair colour can't be too extreme.
