20 Amazing Secrets On Google Maps

15. This Giant Rabbit

The Hase, or Pink Rabbit, is one of the weirder tourist attractions you'll find in Italy. If you don't fancy the trek up the 5,000 feet (1,500 m) Colletto Fava hill to see it in person, though, you could always navigate Google Maps to 44.243543, 7.769179 and take a look from the comfort of your own home. It's exactly what you think it is, by the way: a huge, pink, stuffed rabbit with its entrails hanging out, installed by Viennese art group Gelitin in 2005. The idea is that it "will be swallowed by the weather, devoured by cattle, completely erased by the weather and nature" within the next twenty years, so get clicking to avoid disappointment. Or you could actually go to Italy. We hear it's pretty nice this time of year.

14. Sword Fight

Google Street View isn't just for the beauty of nature, however. We've seen plenty of interesting sights involving our fellow man, and by interesting we usually mean gross or violent. Thankfully when we came across this duelling couple on the streets of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (that's 40.45761,-80.007731 for those of you playing along at home) they looked to be engaging in the ancient Japanese art of Kendo, a form of sword fighting that doesn't involve any actual bloodshed. As to why they were practising this on their front lawn, in the middle of the day, whilst a Google Maps car was driving past? That's another story and, sadly, one we're unlikely ever to hear. So let's just enjoy that wonderful image, shall we?
