20 Amazing Secrets On Google Maps

13. Markings In The Desert

The desert is full of strange things. Rattlesnakes, mirages, talking coyotes with the voice of Johnny Cash urging you to go on a vision quest and find your soulmate. Make sure you stay hydrated out there, kids. Or don't bother to risk the sun stroke and/or dehydration by just sitting at your computer all day and obsessing over the countless weird markings Google Earth has picked up amongst the baking hot sand, like the above formation in the Egyptian Red Sea Governorate, at 27.225010, 33.75462. What is up with that? Where did it come from? It was probably aliens, right?
Same thing with this little doozy for the Nevada desert in the US, along 37.563936, -116.85123. It's a big old target. Is that something to do with the military? Are they daring UFOs to attack us here? Because we have to say, baller move though that would be, it's probably not very smart. For one thing, aliens probably don't even know what a target is. They have their whole own system of symbols and look just get rid of it, okay?
