2. No. 1411 - Robert Downey Jr

There have been multiple iterations of Spider-Man, The Hulk and other superhero’s. But for many, there is only one Ironman.

Robert started acting as young as 5 years old, when he appeared in his fathers film, “Pound” back in 1970. But it was his portrayal of Charlie Chaplin in the 1992 biopic, “Chaplin”, where he captured audiences attention as a serious actor. The role earned him his first nomination for an Academy Award and won him a BAFTA. However, two drug charges in 2000 and 2001 had many thinking his career was going in the wrong direction.

But after a few successful roles in films such as “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” and “Zodiac”, Robert landed the role that would make him a global superstar when he took on the mantle of Tony Stark in the 2007 film “Iron Man.”

The film is hailed as the spark that helped get the Marvel Cinematic Universe up and running. So in this podcast, its no surprise that Joe asked Robert what its like to be part of a Marvel production and the immense fame his role as Ironman has brought him. Joe even teases the idea that it is possible that Robert could revive his role as Ironman for future films. Something that Robert does not seem to be against.
