20 Bonkers JFK Conspiracy Theories People Still Believe 50 Years After His Death

8. Woody Harrelson's Dad

Harrelson We actually have a confession straight from the horse's mouth for this one... well, sort of. Yes, this is actually the father of THE Woody Harrelson, famous to our parents for playing half-brained yet full-hearted bartender Woody Boyd in the smash sitcom Cheers and famous to us Gen Ys and Millenials for playing drunken and traumatized mentor Haymitch Abernathy in The Hunger Games saga. He's also infamous for his somewhat checkered ancestry; his father, Charles Harrelson who had actually abandoned Woody's family when he was young, served two consecutive life sentences in Texas for the murder of Hon. John H. Wood Jr., a federal judge. During a tense standoff with police that led to his eventual arrest, Harrelson actually admitted to being the second shooter on the grassy knoll on that fateful November day. After he was safely behind bars, Harrelson admitted that this was simply a bargaining chip with the cops and that he was actually nowhere near Dallas on the day Kennedy was assassinated. However, this one was practically spoon fed to conspiracy theorists and briefly fueled the fire against the single bullet theory. Those proud few who still believe this will be disappointed to know that Harrelson died in prison in 2007 at the age of 69, leaving no way to prove this theory beyond the half brained confession.
