19. You Have To Pick Your Own Supervisor?
Being an adult is difficult: you have to know what you're doing with your life at the age of fourteen and stick by those decisions because when you see your parents they look like they have it all figured out. It isn't until you actually become an adult that you realise everyone is just winging it. Picking your tutor is a big decision to make, especially when you haven't even figured out what you're writing about yet. You want someone who is laid back so they won't shout at you for procrastinating but you know that is probably the worst idea for you. So you pick someone who best knows the field that you're writing about and hope that they'll just write it for you. You can dream.
