20 Greatest Roller Coasters In England

2. Saw: The Ride - Thorpe Park

Opened: 2009

Manufacturer: Gerstlauer

Type: Eurofighter

Saw: The Ride, the world's first horror movie-themed roller coaster, is everything you want a roller coaster to be.

The theming is unreal, the indoor section is tremendous, the drop is unforgettable, the layout is absolutely heart-pumping, the momentum is flawless, the speed is breathless... this one really does have it all. In fact, this is the best thing associated with the Saw franchise at all.

This is arguably Thorpe Park's masterpiece and one of the very, very best roller coasters in the UK.

Following the sad news that Thorpe Park's beloved log flume (which is located next to Saw) will be closing, that implies that the park will be getting a new roller coaster in its place soon. Still, as exciting as that will be, can they possibly top Saw: The Ride? It seems unlikely.
