20 Greatest Roller Coasters In England

16. Nemesis Inferno - Thorpe Park

Opened: 2003

Manufacturer: B&M

Type: Inverted Coaster

Another iconic UK ride (no doubt partially thanks to it being associated so strongly with The Inbetweeners) this B&M Inverted Coaster is a sister ride to Alton Towers' Nemesis, as well as the only other roller coaster of this type in the UK.

Most were probably expecting to see this higher, but much like with Swarm it's not a perfect ride and many other coasters in the UK are better. It's not as forceful as it could be and it does suffer a little bit when compared to its sister ride at Alton Towers, but there's still plenty to love about Nemesis Inferno.

It's a very entertaining ride with a very good pre-lift section (the longest on any B&M Invert), four fearsome inversions and a twisty, unique and interesting layout.

In general, it's a lovely, enormously fun ride but when you ride it in the front row, it's downright brilliant. There's a good reason why Will from The Inbetweeners was so keen to ride in the front.
