20 Greatest Roller Coasters In England

17. Infusion - Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Opened: 2007

Manufacturer: Vekoma

Type: Suspended Looping Coaster (SLC)

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is a brilliant, brilliant theme park that could just be the best in the UK. It has an unforgettable collection of coasters which are mostly old but classic attractions, but that's not to say it doesn't have a few great modern rides too. Infusion is one of them.

Vekoma Suspended Looping Coasters have a very bad reputation due to their roughness, but the UK has been lucky with them since all three of the UK SLCs are actually really good.

Infusion was formerly located at Pleasureland Southport under the name of Traumatizer. Once that park closed, it was relocated to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, given a beautiful repaint, reassembled over water (complete with fantastic water effects) and thus Infusion was born.

Infusion is notable for being the only coaster in the country built entirely over water, but it's also a blast in general. It can be a little rough at times, but for the most part it's just a very entertaining, fast-paced and intense ride with a terrific first drop and five punchy inversions.
