Once Germany attacked the socialist Soviet Union in June 1941 and Joseph Stalin's USSR became British allies, the government wanted to find a way to convince the public the pair could work together effectively.

This poster depicts Adolf Hitler being strangled by a British and a Soviet flag and it was accompanied with a phrase underneath that read: "Together we shall strangle Hitlerism".
