3. Go To Bed An Hour Earlier
Sleep is one of those strangely necessary biological functions - no matter how long you think you might be able to survive without, either you collapse or you, well, die. There's a reason you spend on average a third of your day - and therefore, on average, a third of your life - sleeping. It's good for you, it's restorative and wonderful, and can help your physical and psychological health tenfold. However, modern life encourages you always to be on the go, surviving on as little sleep possible out of fear of missing out on something, like a news development, or a boring tweet from a B-list celebrity. One of the best swaps you can ever implement in your life is to go ahead and go to bed one hour earlier. By 'go to bed', that means you don't check your tablet or your phone. You turn them off - shocking, I know - and go to sleep. It might take a little while to settle into it, but getting that extra hour's rest and slumber has wonderful side effects. You lower your risk of heart disease, your risk of injury, improve your mindset and improve your mood. So turn off the computer and settle down for a nice long sleep. You'll be glad you did.
