6. Keanu Reeves Helps Films Employ His Idols
Keanu Reeves doesnt get a lot of the credit he deserves. Our favourite doomy meme (and immortal vampire) should be less known as a blood-sucking depressive, but more awesome all-round good guy. Despite being a massively highly-earning star, Reeves doesnt buy into the money-grabbing rich stereotype that tends to pervade the innumerately successful. In 1997 Reeves deferred his salary for The Devils Advocate so that the budget could afford to cast Al Pacino as a particularly effective Satan (despite the quality of the rest of the film). He did this again in 2000 for The Replacements so that they could have Gene Hackman. More notably, he gave away almost all of the £50 million that he received for The Matrix to the special effects team. Incredibly, this act turned all of them into millionaires. Reeves said of this that he could live on what hes already made for the next few centuries, so money is of little importance to him now (so we should all try and get to work with him if we can).
